lyrics

(Based on a poem by Junqueira Freire)

A gentle thought of eternal peace,
Dear death, come. You are the end
Of two ghosts that existence forms,
Of this vain soul and this suffering body.

Dear death. You are nothingness,
The absence of life's motions,
Of the pleasure that past pain demands.

Gentle thought of eternal peace,
Dear death, come - You are only the most real vision
Of those around us,
Who extinguishes our earthly visions.

I have always loved you - and I want to belong to you all eternity too, my beloved death.
I want the ground, I want the earth - that element;
That doesn't feel the twists and turns of fate.

And then nothing more. There is no more time,
No life, no pain, no taste.
Now nothingness

"E depois nada mais. Já não há tempo,
Nem vida, nem sentir, nem dor, nem gosto.
Agora o nada, — esse real tão belo
Só nas terrenas vísceras deposto."
